Water Lily Pond

By Tsujikaze 辻風Three water lilies rest across a still pond, each bloom caught at a different stage of opening, their petals a warm pink against grey washed water. Two lily pads anchor the composition at either edge, one flat and pale, the other dark and rounded, holding the eye's path between them. The artist's red seal marks the lower left. The water lily has long stood for a kind of quiet renewal in East Asian painting, rising clean from still or muddied water each morning. Grouped here in threes rather than alone, the flowers suggest less a single symbol than an ordinary pond on an ordinary day, worth noticing precisely because nothing about it asks to be noticed.Printed as a giclée on museum-grade, archival fine art paper for lasting vibrancy and detail. An exclusive artwork, created by Tsujikaze.
