The surface features a lively mottled glaze in creamy white, brown, pink and muted violet tones. The model is executed on a monumental scale and is marked. Origin: Germany. Bio: Richard Uhlemeyer (1900–1954) was a German ceramicist and craftsman who operated his own pottery workshop in Osnabrück. Uhlemeyer’s ceramics from the 1940s and early 1950s represent the German studio pottery tradition of the post-war period and are sought after by collectors today.
