It is weighty, easy to adjust, and comes with all the tools you need to operate and adjust it. This gouger does not come with a guillotine, but you can purchase a guillotine separately here. You can adjust the cutting length to cut the cane at 118mm. What is the benefit of using cane shorter than 120mm? It can make it easier to make a wider reed without significantly changing your measurements or changing your shape. Ultimately, it just depends on personal preference. If you like cutting your tips closer to the widest part of the shape without cutting the butt end of your cane while forming, this is the best way to do so.
