HONG KONG 2025

This work, titled Hong Kong 2025, evokes the fire that ravaged the city in 2025 and is possibly one of the most powerful, expressive, and mature pieces in my entire expressionist catalog. I have abandoned the more figurative or traditional style to delve into urban expressionism, with a striking use of materials and color, such as the reds of the fire and the black of the smoke. The white, yellow, and bright red patches at the bottom represent the lights from the windows, giving a sense of urban life cut short.
