The Maker's Philosophy The maker believes that the ideal way for a watering can to water is to imitate rain. Just as rain was essential for life to appear on Earth, a bonsai - a miniature world expressed on a tray - also needs rain to be created for it artificially. Bonsai documents handed down from the Edo period record that rainwater was scattered over trees using a ladle. The watering cans made here work the same way: like a ladle, they scoop rainwater from a jar of stored water and let it fall as rain over the tree.
