Fruit Platter Pieces, 300g

Brand: Solarfruit
Out of stock View at Merchant

Fruit Platter Pieces are bite-sized squares of sun-dried stonefruit in a round resealable 300 g tub. They are the plain version, with no coconut, chocolate or sugar coating. The maker presents them for cheese or fruit platters and as a travel pack that is easy to share, and lists nectarine, plum, peach, apricot, sour plum, sour apricot and prune plum. The squares are cut straight from the dried sheet. The FAQ puts that sheet at 98 per cent fruit with under 2 per cent cane sugar added, and says it is dried in the sun. The maker also says the apricot won a silver medal and the nectarine a bronze at the 2014 Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards. On the label, potassium metabisulphite (E224) is listed. Solarfruit's coated lines go through an extruder first; the squares do not. Coconut Coated Fruit and Dark Choc Coated Fruit are the bite-sized coated versions, and the Giant Fruit Roll is the whole sheet in one piece. The FAQ says its dried fruit carries a best-before date two years from the day it is made. Made by Solarfruit, a family business in Donnybrook. Sue and Steve Collis say they started it in 1994 to make sun-dried fruit bars. Seeing it in person Solarfruit has a factory shop on Wade Road, Donnybrook.
