Vintage Color Haori - Pink Shippo and Chigo -

Chigo (稚児) traditionally refers to children dressed in beautiful ceremonial costumes who take part in Japanese temple and shrine festivals and rituals. When depicted on kimono, Chigo figures often evoke the elegance and charm of traditional celebrations, as well as wishes for happiness and healthy growth. Shippo (七宝) is a traditional Japanese auspicious motif whose name originates from the Seven Treasures of Buddhism: gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, shell, coral, and agate. These seven precious materials represent treasures of great value and beauty. The endlessly interlocking circles of the Shippo pattern symbolise connections between people, harmonious relationships, and bonds that continue and expand. For this reason, Shippo has long been cherished as an auspicious motif representing good fortune, harmony, and lasting connections. Upon close inspection, there are a few areas with faint stains, but there are no noticeable marks or significant stains overall.
