Hand-Embroidered Cushion Cover by Rodayna

A square cushion cover in a warm golden-brown fabric, decorated with raised pink and cream embroidery. The design draws on traditional stitches, motifs, designs and colour palettes from governorates across Yemen, forming a layered geometric floral pattern around a circular centre. This hand-embroidered cushion cover was made by Rodayna, a young participant in YENOF’s education and embroidery programme. After first enrolling in school through YENOF with her sister, Rodayna learned embroidery during after-school hours and holidays, developing skills that support both her education and personal growth. In 2025, she also took part in YENOF’s embroidery preservation project, helping celebrate Yemen’s rich and living cultural heritage. Handmade and richly textured, this is a one-of-a-kind piece, with only one set available.
