Birger Sandzén: Celebrating the Vision
Birger Sandzén: Celebrating the Vision By Cori Sherman North Beautifully illustrated in full color, this 86-page coffee table book paperback tells the biography and celebrates the artwork of Birger Sandzén (1871-1954)! Lindsborg’s most famous artist was a Swedish-American painter particularly known for his impressionistic landscapes. He produced most of his key work in the museum’s own 1904 World’s Fair Swedish Pavilion while he was an art professor at Bethany College and the Pavilion was the college’s art department. His work and legacy is preserved at the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery – also in Lindsborg – and we are appreciative to the gallery for partnering with us to make this commemorative book available in the museum gift shop.
