Aran Fawddwy, Gwynedd | Travel Poster

Aran Fawddwy's broad mountain shoulder creates a quiet upland mood, its rolling ridges softened by muted greens and purple heather, Its soft light and measured view give the place a quietly memorable character. The main ridge crosses the middle of the view, with a rounded high point and several shallow notches along its crest. Patchwork grass and heather cover the nearer slopes, while blue-grey hills overlap in the distance. A pale sky with scattered clouds leaves the open ground as the focus. Aran Fawddwy is shown here in its surroundings. For walkers in Gwynedd, the successive ridges suggest a long approach across exposed upland. The gentle contours contrast with the sharper peaks nearby, and the heather-coloured foreground marks the rough ground underfoot. The familiar details make this view easy to place for anyone who has spent time in the area.
