Description The Anigen Rapid Rabies Ag Test Kit by BIONOTE is a rapid immunochromatographic diagnostic test for the qualitative detection of Rabies virus antigen in fresh brain tissue. The test uses specific antibodies against Rabies virus and provides a visual result through the appearance of a test line and control line. Results are interpreted at 5–10 minutes. The kit is intended for veterinary use and can be used with fresh brain tissue specimens from dogs, cattle, and raccoon dogs. Use the supplied swab to rub and homogenize the tissue until it forms a smooth paste. Insert the swab into the assay diluent tube and mix thoroughly. Place the test device on a flat, dry surface. Using the supplied dropper, transfer 4 drops of the prepared sample into the sample hole. Allow the sample to develop. Read the result at 5–10 minutes. Do not interpret results after 20 minutes. Result Interpretation Positive: Both the C (Control) line and T (Test) line appear. This indicates detection of Rabies virus antigen. Negative: Only the C (Control) line appears. Invalid: The C (Control) line does not appear. The test should be repeated using a new test device. Although the test is designed for accurate detection, false results can occur. A negative result does not completely rule out infection, and suspected or questionable results should be evaluated using appropriate confirmatory laboratory testing.
