Vintage Youths / Mens 1940s Trench Coat Double Breasted Khaki Tan Raincoat Mac XS

A fabulous vintage circa 1940s raglan sleeve trench coat, probably of German origin, originally intended for a youth but could fit a small, slim man or a lady. Made from finely-woven cotton twill fabric in a sandy khaki colour, fully lined with plaid cotton, it has a wealth of super details, including broad lapels, scalloped front & rear yokes, long cuff tabs, leather 'football' buttons, belt with leather-covered buckle, rear kick vent, & lots of triple top-stitching. No labels present. Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description. NB Accessories not included. Size: Suggested XS, shorter fitting - to fit about 34" chest depending on layers beneath & desired fit - photographed on a 38" mannequin. All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent): Chest - armpit to armpit: 20 1/2" (52cm) Shoulder width: approx. 17" (43cm) Sleeve length centre neck to cuff: approx. 31" (79cm) Armpit to cuff: 15 1/2" (39.5cm) Waist: 21" (53cm) Back length - base of collar to hem: 43" (107cm) Condition: In very good condition overall with some signs of wear & use - there is a brown mark below & between the bottom buttons (arrowed) - grubby marks on & around the collar fold - a few other scattered small spots & marks, a few tiny surface snags. Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing but not cleaned.
