The Simucube 2 Pro delivers 25Nm of continuous direct drive torque through a platform that has been the benchmark for years, and the Rexing Mayaris 2 bolts to it without an adapter because its aluminium hub already takes the 70mm pattern. Rotational inertia at the rim fights the base's ability to change direction, so a heavy wheel blunts exactly the detail a high slew rate exists to deliver. The Mayaris 2 is light because its carbon is structural rather than cosmetic, which means the 8.0Nm per millisecond the Simucube 2 Pro can produce arrives at your hands rather than being absorbed by the rim. What the wheelbase brings Peak torque tells you how hard a base can pull. Slew rate tells you how fast it can change how hard it is pulling, and that is what you feel as detail. The Simucube 2 Pro runs 8.0Nm per millisecond and adjusts down to 1.0 if a car feels too sharp. The 25Nm is continuous rather than peak, held until the motor gets genuinely hot. Four M8 threaded holes on a 145mm pattern with a 110mm centring flange secure it, and a torque off button is supplied and is mandatory rather than optional. What the wheel brings A 5 inch touchscreen at 854 x 480 with 11 RPM and 6 marshal RGB LEDs around it, three OLED screens labelling the central switches, ten RGB illuminated buttons and six thumb encoders from Alps and Elma. Behind it, magnetic hall shifters with rubber stops and analogue clutch paddles with a digitally adjustable bite point and six presets saved on the wheel. The wheel side kit bolts to the Mayaris 2's aluminium hub using M5 x 10mm bolts and an 8mm wrench, with no adapter plate needed. The wheel runs its own USB spiral cable to the PC through a non proprietary connector on the back, rather than taking power and data through the quick release. Check the wheel side kit is included in your configuration, as it is the half that bolts to the Mayaris 2's hub.Does the wheel need an adapter to fit the base?No. The Mayaris 2's aluminium hub accepts 70mm directly, so it takes the Simucube wheel side quick release with M5 x 10mm bolts and nothing else.Is a Link Hub required?No. That applies to the Simucube 3 range. The Rexing Mayaris 2 steering wheel carries a two-year warranty against defects in material or workmanship under normal use and maintenance. Rexing's cover is transferable, and any part they repair or replace starts a fresh two-year period of its own. Rexing build these wheels by hand and are explicit that minor cosmetic variation in a hand laid carbon or polyurethane surface is normal rather than a fault.
