Draeger accuro Gas Detector Tube Pump

The Dräger accuro is a hand-operated bellows pump that draws a measured 100 cc air sample through a Dräger colorimetric detector tube, giving a direct gas reading in the field with no batteries and no power source. It is the pump FSS supplies for phosphine, methyl bromide and carbon dioxide tube measurements. Each completed stroke — squeezing the bellows fully and letting it reopen until the end-of-stroke indicator appears — draws 100 mL of air through the tube. The instructions supplied with each tube state how many strokes a measurement requires. Use the accuro only with Dräger tubes, and follow the instructions supplied with both the tube and the pump. Dräger tube instructions specify the accuro bellows pump or the X-act 5000 automatic tube pump; tubes from other manufacturers are outside those instructions. What’s Included? FSS supplies Dräger phosphine (PH₃), methyl bromide (MB) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) detector tubes as separate products for use with this pump. Tubes from other manufacturers are outside the Dräger instructions. Use Notes Select a tube whose calibrated range covers the concentration that must be measured. Follow the applicable fumigant label, Fumigation Management Plan, regulations, and the instructions supplied with the Dräger tube and pump. Each tube reading is a spot measurement at the sampling point and time. The pump and tubes are measurement tools: they do not establish, certify or guarantee clearance, re-entry authorization, worker safety, regulatory compliance or suitability for any particular fumigation. Determining the correct monitoring method for a given application is the responsibility of the certified applicator, under the applicable fumigant label and applicator’s manual. A valid reading also depends on a leak-tight pump and on applying any temperature, humidity and pressure corrections given in the tube’s instructions. Dräger states that the pump should be checked for leaks and suction capacity before each measurement, as described in its Instructions for Use, and flushed with clean air after a measurement by performing several strokes without a tube. Dräger also states that the pump must be inspected and serviced regularly by suitably qualified persons, using only authentic Dräger spare parts.
