A wonderfully impressive Victorian handblown glass dome, dating to circa 1850, of unusually large proportions and fascinating ovoid form. Originally intended as a taxidermy or display showcase, this substantial dome would make a striking addition to an antique interior. Its generous proportions make it particularly well suited to housing a clock, treasured ornament, sculpture, botanical display or small taxidermy specimen. The dome is beautifully made from quality, clear handblown glass, featuring an elegant ovoid shape, domed top and straightened sides.
