A Tunbridge Ware pot containing a glass bottle-an inkwell / sander. c 1840
This is a turned wooden pot with a Tunbridge inlaid lid and a corked glass bottle inside. It stands at just under 4.5 cm high and has a 3 cm base diameter. The wood is dark, possibly ebony or ebonized, and features a geometric inlay. The lid is stiff and leaves a small gap when closed.
- The lid screw-on mechanism is stiff and leaves a 1mm gap when closed.
