Seton Hall Pirates 1988-1989 Retro Shorts

The 1988-1989 Seton Hall Pirates started their season in championship fashion, going 3-0 and claiming the Great Alaska Shootout title with wins over Utah, Kentucky, and Kansas. Their winning ways continued throughout the season as the Pirates went 26-6 heading into the the NCAA Tournament. Once there they wasted little time making their mark. Wins over Missouri State, Evansville, Indiana, and UNLV landed SHU in the Final Four in a matchup with Duke. After dispatching the Blue Devils 95-78 they faced Michigan in what became one of the greatest championship games in the history of the tournament. "That was just a special team.
