Vibrant, beautifully stitched and reversible, this large vintage kantha quilt in subtle emerald green was originally hand-crafted in Bengal, made using layers of vintage sari fabric sewn together using hundreds of fine, delicate kantha stitches and finished with superb embroidery. This kantha quilt is a mid weight in a large size and in good condition for its age with some authentic worn texture. It features a grid of wave pattern interlaced stitching and red 5 point flowers with a superb wide stitched border. The reverse is a mix of red florals making it completely reversible. The border stitching is a Holbein stitch, similar to Japanese sashiko, in a geometric zig zag design. Incredibly versatile, this beautiful, one of a kind textile will add a touch of authentic bohemian charm to any space.
