VINTELOPER SHIRAZ

The 14th vintage of Shiraz produced by Vinteloper. From 2008 to 2022 only the 2011 vintage was omitted. The 2022 edition opens with blue fruit, baking spices and mentos freshness. Verse two brings the blackcurrant and darker fruits with a hint of 'barrel room' aroma, which smells like money to a winemaker. The palate ramps up the complexity, starting with charred oak underpinning the complex dark fruits, dried apricot and sticky date pudding. Then clove, white pepper and mixed roasted veg umami. You can sense the time invested by the length and complexity that presents.
