Aluen CAP - Oxalic Acid Strips - SINGLE PACK
One pack contains 60 strips - which is 15 treatments for 8-10 frame beehives at a cost of $8.50 per treatment Aluen CAP Slow-Release Oxalic Acid Strips: Organic Varroa Treatment for Australian Beekeepers Aluen CAP Slow-Release Oxalic Acid Strips are an organic, in-hive treatment for varroa mite (Varroa destructor) control in honey bee colonies. Built for real-world Australian beekeeping, these slow-release oxalic acid strips can be applied while brood is present and carry a zero-day honey withholding period after removal — so your hives stay productive and your honey stays clean. Why Australian beekeepers choose Aluen CAP oxalic acid strips Each strip delivers 10 g of oxalic acid dihydrate in a patented slow-release matrix that works inside the hive, exactly where varroa mites feed and reproduce. Over a 42-day controlled release window, mites are continuously exposed to oxalic acid while bees carry on with normal hive activity. Supplied as a ready-to-use 2280 g carton of 60 strips, Aluen CAP suits operations of every size, from backyard apiaries to large commercial yards. A varroa treatment that fits Integrated Pest Management Aluen CAP is designed to be used only when monitoring confirms treatment is needed, making it a natural fit for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs and routine varroa surveillance. Treat at the start of the season as colonies build toward honey supers, or at the end of the season while brood is still present and hives are preparing for winter. Treating every colony in the apiary at the same time supports systematic, yard-wide varroa management and helps prevent reinfestation. How to apply Aluen CAP strips in your hives Application is fast and straightforward: 8–10 frame hives: place 4 strips across the top bars of frames 2, 4, 6 and 8. 5–6 frame nucleus hives: place 2 strips across the top bars of frames 2 and 4. Leave strips in place for 42 days, then remove and discard. Strips are single-use and must not be reused. Use Aluen CAP only once per year and never over two consecutive treatment periods — clear boundaries that protect both your bees and the long-term value of oxalic acid as a varroa treatment. Safe handling, storage and stewardship Aluen CAP is a registered animal-treatment poison and must be kept out of reach of children. When handling strips, wear buttoned cotton overalls (or equivalent), gauntlet-length chemical-resistant gloves and goggles, and work in a well-ventilated area. For storage and disposal: Keep the original container closed and stored below 30 °C, away from light. Discard unused strips 24 hours after first opening the pouch. Dispose of packaging and any unused product per local regulations — never burn containers or product.
