Graphic Novel Open Studio
Instructor: David Caesar Do you have ideas brewing for a graphic novel and are looking to make them a reality? Do you have a graphic novel in progress and are looking for dedicated time to create with guidance? This 5-Day Workshop is for you! Along with dedicated work time, each day will begin with a talk by the instructor on a different subject including: -Story Elements -Structure and Character -Drawing Basics -Portrait and Figure -Perspective -Panel Layout, Rhythm, Pacing and Flow -Types of Panels and different storytelling methods. We’ll discuss effective approaches to the process and will look at the masters of the craft - past and present - and study how they utilized and expanded on this diverse medium This will be a largely self-directed course, with a focus on concentrated work time. David will be helping those who desire assistance or constructive criticism Students should come prepared with a project to begin or continue as well as any materials they require - sketchbooks, drawing and/or painting supplies, laptop, etc. *Suitable for Ages 14 and up
