THE HEART AND SYSTEMIC DISEASES: INTERACTIONS AND CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS
While all our organs are vital for our lives, the heart is of paramount importance. Our heart, while it is healthy, conducts our body like an or-chestra, yet it can encounter very serious risks and be severely affected both by its own disorders and by diseases of other systems. Current liter-ature largely addresses this interaction within a single system and almost entirely fails to cover the effects of disorders across all systems on the cardiovascular system. Our study aims to address this gap by providing comprehensive data to the literature. In this book, the effects of systemic diseases on heart health have been investigated in detail through the efforts of both domes-tic and international authors. I believe that this valuable work, produced through the contributions of numerous authors, will serve as an important reference for many researchers. Furthermore, I believe that valuable specialists in cardiology and oth-er fields will be able to refresh their knowledge with the up-to-date infor-mation presented in this multi-authored resource from the early stages of their education. This work represents an original contribution to Turkish medicine in terms of its value to the literature. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who contrib-uted to the writing of this book, especially the esteemed authors, as well as to everyone who took part in its preparation and publication for their selfless efforts.
