Steltman chair

The Steltman Chair is the final design by Gerrit Rietveld, created when he was 75 years old. With its clean lines and geometric planes, the chair forms an asymmetrical composition that reveals a new perspective from every angle. Originally designed for the Steltman jewellery store in The Hague, the chair was placed beside a glass counter where customers selected jewellery and wedding rings. Two mirrored versions were created, symbolising two distinct forms that together form a unified whole. With its apparent simplicity and architectural clarity, the Steltman Chair remains a timeless example of Rietveld’s design philosophy and an enduring icon of Dutch design. Available in two options for the arm: left or right and several finishes: Oak Natural, Oak Black, Divina Kvadrat fabric and Leather.
