Banarasi Floral Black Art Silk Dupatta
Banarasi Floral Black Art Silk Dupatta A handwoven Art Silk dupatta from Banaras — rich black base with a dense multicolour floral jaal, antique gold zari border, and silk tassels at each end. Part of the Navdurga Collection. 2.25 metres of heritage craft, made to drape and be remembered. Rooted in the centuries-old weaving tradition of Varanasi, this Banarasi Art Silk Dupatta is a piece that carries its history visibly. The deep black ground is woven through with a dense floral jaal — vines, blooms and leaves in jewel tones of pink, orange, green and gold — a pattern that Banarasi weavers call "meenakari" for its resemblance to enamel inlay work. Along all four edges, a bold antique gold zari border frames the field with precision. Hand-knotted black silk tassels finish each end. Crafted from Art Silk — a fabric that offers the visual weight and sheen of pure silk with everyday wearability. Drapes effortlessly over salwar suits, kurtis, or as a stole with evening wear. Part of the Navdurga Collection by Rivayat The Heritage — a curated set of dupattas sourced directly from artisan families in Varanasi, each piece handwoven on traditional pit-looms. • Fabric: Art Silk (Kala Zari) • Length: 2.25 metres (standard full-length dupatta) • Weave: Banarasi jaal with meenakari-style floralwork • Border: Antique gold zari, all four sides • Finish: Hand-knotted silk tassels • Care: Dry clean recommended; store folded in muslin
