The deep black ground is woven through with a dense floral jaal — vines, blooms and leaves in jewel tones of pink, orange, green and gold — a pattern that Banarasi weavers call "meenakari" for its resemblance to enamel inlay work. Along all four edges, a bold antique gold zari border frames the field with precision. Hand-knotted black silk tassels finish each end.
