Back by popular demand, we are excited to release the 2026 version of the Guyu Green Tea Sampler. This year, you will find only new entries. China is a green tea country, and we want to offer a larger spectrum of the diversity that exists here. Firework Green (AKA Lvyangchun) was one of the first green teas we ever sold back in 2018; Anji Baicha is a cultivar-specific style well on its way to becoming China's most beloved green tea; Dafang Green is flattened, wok-fried tea that may have been the technical inspiration for modern Dragonwell; Shucheng Orchid Green represents a unique genre of freshness-forward, charcoal-roasted green tea in Western Anhui. Marshmallow Green and Duyun Maojian are the new frontier of Southwestern green teas that we will explore in coming years. The 2026 Guyu versions of Biluochun, Dragonwell, Emei Maofeng, Enshi Yulu, Golden Green, and Ganlu, may all be purchased separately. This sampler contains a total of 106 grams of fresh green tea, includes all of the following teas: Anji Baicha(20g) A fan favorite from last year, the Anji Baicha this year is even better than the year prior. Whiter and lighter than the 2025 harvest, this Anji Baicha delivers a gentle, creamy and waxy mouthfeel you will find nowhere else. Bean sprout and orchid flavors register on tongue, and leave behind only sweetness. Dafang Green(20g) This is a sturdy, smoky brew with a more delicate vegetal underside that peaks through as you sip. The aroma is rich, and the lingering savory flavor in the mouth and throat is extremely pleasant. There is a good chance you have already drunk Dafang Green, you just did not know it. As Master Bao recounts, almost all the flattened, wok-fried green tea in their village is marketed in neighboring Zhejiang Province as Dragonwell. Shucheng Orchid Green(20g) A happy medium between Maofeng and Anji Baicha, this tea offers the creamy, delicate floral notes of Anji Baicha, while also delivering the heavier body associated with more premium Anhui green teas. The Shucheng area's unique baking and shaping process produces a tea that is vibrantly verdant and fresh. Firework Rain (20g) A light and delicate green tea made of the Longjing #43 cultivar. From Derek’s tea master Yin Wei, this tea has none of the toasted chestnut fragrances associated with dragonwell, instead has a bouquet of spring flowers, baked cake, and cream. This is some of the best tea made in Yangzhou, matching his vision of "Firework Green." It for more delicate and grassy than many other local teas. There persists a sweet pea or fresh green bean fragrance on the wet leaves, through the first few infusions, but the soup remains pleasantly sweet, floral and herbaceous. Marsmellow Green (20g) As the name implies, this is a weird one. If you have liked our Chunjian or Mojiang Yunzhen last year, this is the next step up in the strange world of Yunnan green teas. It has that unique fig pastry aroma, but an even more pleasantly sweet flavor and chalky body that can only be described as marshmallow. 1 Infusion Freebie - Duyun Maojian (6g) In the same genre as Ganlu or Biluochun, this is a wok-fried and finished green tea. Duyun Maojian is our first-ever tea hailing from Guizhou Province - it is a fragrantly robust, vegetal treat appropriate for a later pick. Having been plucked after April 4th, these teas are all Minghou picks that are excellent in every other respect. All of these teas look and taste great while also staying true to official processing standards. Here is a chance to get several infusions' worth of these well-loved teas at a reasonable price. The best defense against “green debt!” Of all these teas, the Firework Rain, Shucheng Orchid Green, and Anji Baicha are perhaps the most appropriate for Gongfu-style brewing. The other teas are better suited for more straight forward grandpa/conventional brewing.
