Lake Cycling MX 178 Cycling Shoe

The all-new MX178 combines Lake's Sport Comfort Last with a durable off-road sole system, creating a versatile cycling shoe for gravel, trail, commuting, touring, and everyday riding. Built around a broader, less tapered forefoot shape, the Sport Comfort Last promotes natural toe splay and additional toe space while maintaining a stable platform for efficient pedaling. Underfoot, a fiberglass-injected nylon midsole provides supportive power transfer with controlled flex, while durable TPU lugs add traction and stability away from smooth pavement. LAST Sport Comfort Last – Designed with a broader toe box and reduced forefoot taper, the Sport Comfort Last provides additional space around the toes while maintaining the support required for cycling. The anatomical forefoot shape helps reduce compression around the medial and lateral forefoot, allowing the toes to sit and spread more naturally under load. A stable forefoot platform maintains foot support and pedaling efficiency across longer rides and mixed terrain. OUTSOLE Lake Enduro sole system with fiberglass-injected nylon midsole and durable TPU lugs. The fiberglass-injected nylon platform provides efficient power transfer with controlled flex for improved comfort over longer rides and rougher surfaces. The TPU tread provides grip, stability, and durability across pavement, gravel, dirt, trail sections, and uneven terrain. The MX178 uses a 2-bolt cleat interface compatible with common MTB and gravel pedal systems. UPPER Black microfiber upper: a structured, low-maintenance material that resists stretch and helps maintain a consistent fit through repeated use. The upper works with the Sport Comfort Last to provide additional forefoot volume while maintaining a secure fit through the midfoot and heel. CLOSURE BOA® Fit System L6 dial. The single L6 dial provides quick, micro-adjustable tension across the upper for simple fit adjustment on and off the bike. Combined with the supportive upper pattern, the system helps maintain a secure fit without excessive compression across the forefoot. FIT The MX178 is designed for riders who want additional forefoot room without giving up the structure and stability of a dedicated cycling shoe. Its broader toe box and reduced taper allow the toes to sit in a more natural position, helping reduce pressure and crowding across the forefoot. Well suited to longer rides and mixed-terrain use.
