Hand-Thrown White Stoneware Vase Hand-thrown on the wheel and glazed in matte white, the Stoneware Bottle Vase stands approximately 9.5" tall with a 3" opening designed for single stems, branches, and loose sprays. The narrow mouth holds arrangements upright without crowding them. The Glaze and the Form The matte glaze is applied by dipping and pouring rather than painting, so it follows the contours of the thrown form rather than obscuring them. Stoneware is among the most durable of the clay bodies, and the way it accepts glaze is what makes the matte white finish possible, dense and even across the surface. Each vase is handmade in Connecticut and takes approximately 10 days to fire and glaze. On the Shelf The tall narrow form works as a standalone object on a shelf or mantel.
