Upstream - Ari Marcopoulos

Upstream is an artist’s book by Ari Marcopoulos, published to accompany his exhibition at Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen in 2022. Marcopoulos re-photographed prints of his own photographs, produced at home with a pigment printer, extending the spontaneous and intimate working methods he developed during the pandemic. The resulting sequence embraces chance, imperfection and intuition. A section is devoted to Alone Together, his 2021 video installation featuring a saxophone performance by jazz musician Joe McPhee.
