Hebe 'Rainbow'

Hebe ‘Rainbow’ is all about year-round brightness—an evergreen hebe with variegated foliage that keeps a garden looking lively even when flowers are scarce. It forms a compact, rounded shrub that always looks smart, and it’s especially good at lifting darker corners of planting. It shines in containers where you can appreciate the leaf colour up close, but it’s just as useful in borders as a little “highlight” plant among deeper greens. Repeat it through a scheme and it gives the whole area a more finished, intentional feel. Plant it in sun or semi shade for the best foliage colour. It’s happy in chalk, clay, loam or sandy soils, as long as they’re neutral to alkaline. Very hardy and compact, and it rarely needs more than a light trim to keep the shape—shelter helps the variegated leaves stay looking fresh.
