Amethyst Cabochon in Bezel Setting and Leaf & Swirl Surrounds, Sterling Silver, size J1/2 or 5, 3.38g

Deep violet hues in the shade and vibrant purples dancing in the sunlight - this gorgeous amethyst cabochon is such a great centre stone for this intricate filigree swirl and leaf ring. Cabochons are a stone we love - just look at that dome shape. The light also seems to glow in this stone because it is not faceted (where the angles of traditional cut stones catch the light). The purple of the amethyst is deep and rich - and our favourite for this stone (also the more valuable of the colours). Bezel set in silver, the top of this ring is covered in swirls and leaves of silver - shiny on their surfaces and deep and filled with patina in the grooves. We love the finger coverage - the asymmetric pattern and the natural imagery against this fabulous natural stone.
