Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2026, this single cask release was finished in a first fill European oak Oloroso sherry hogshead (cask #81). It is a natural combination for Mortlach: the active sherry cask builds upon the whisky’s inherent richness, bringing darker fruit and warming spice while allowing the distillery’s substantial texture and savoury depth to remain at the heart of the dram. Produced at Mortlach Distillery, the spirit has long been associated with a particularly robust and characterful style. Here, 16 years of maturation have given that muscular character time to develop, while the Oloroso finish introduces another layer of indulgence without overwhelming the underlying whisky.
