the winter guest – a midwinter yarn box

Pre-orders are open until midnight Wednesday 11th November and yarn will be dispatched by Friday 27th November. On Christmas Eve afternoon, as the sun sets, we settle in front of the fire as a family, and each open a new book that we've chosen especially for this occasion. Anything goes, from graphic novels, through non-fiction, to classics that we've read before and can't resist, but I usually try to find something that encapsulates the season and sets the mood for the days ahead, and what better way to share our family tradition with you all, than by adding yarn! This year's yarn box is inspired by a brand new novella from one of my favourite authors. The Winter Guest by Sarah Moss is a slim novella, perfectly proportioned to devour in an afternoon with the festive chore list temporarily set to one side. Set on the west coast of Ireland on Christmas Eve, a couple meet for the first time as a snowstorm rages outside. They are strangers but as the evening develops and they each tell their story, the night takes an unexpected turn. It proved the perfect inspiration for our midwinter yarn box... Designed to be opened when you need a quiet few moments to regroup and find your seasonal good spirits in the run-up to the big day, this indulgent yarn box will contain; a copy of The Winter Guest by Sarah Moss, an indulgent scented candle, a beautiful tree decoration, and the yarn of your choice from the options below. As always, we've tried to accommodate a range of desires and budgets, so there's also the option to just purchase the yarn with no trimmings. Additionally, if you prefer 'no trimmings' and also don't like 'mystery' yarn, I'll be revealing the shades and adding spare skeins to the shop, in all the varieties, after December 25th. The dye pan low-down... Expect three variegated shades, dyed to work as a fade or individually. I'm aiming for a dramatic contrast (Check out my Pinterest mood board to get a feel for my shade inspiration). If you order a single skein option you'll get one of the shades from the 'set of three'. The mini-skein set will include the three main shades plus two extras.
