Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro Gordo (6" x 60)

There's something particularly appealing about a substantial Maduro cigar when the blend has enough character to justify the extra tobacco. The Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro Gordo takes Matt Booth's imaginative cigar concept into decidedly richer territory. Handcrafted by AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua, this 2026 release is an entirely Nicaraguan blend, pairing a dark Maduro wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and long-filler tobaccos. It's a fuller-bodied departure from the original Connecticut-wrapped Johnny Tobacconaut. The Gordo's 6" x 60 proportions place greater emphasis on the filler blend, giving the interior tobaccos a broader presence while the Maduro wrapper contributes richness and aromatic depth. The profile is earthy and robust, with dark cocoa, roasted coffee and a measured peppery character. Despite its substantial dimensions, the attraction is not simply strength but the interplay between the darker wrapper and the Nicaraguan tobacco beneath it. The Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro Gordo is particularly well suited to smokers who favor large ring gauges and appreciate the depth of a properly blended Nicaraguan Maduro. Its generous filler core and extended smoking time reward a relaxed pace. Set aside an unhurried evening for this one. Beneath Room101's unmistakable personality is a serious, tobacco-driven cigar that deserves your attention.
