The MONIO Bouclé Soft Foam European Single Bed offers a generous 90 × 200 cm sleeping area, combining a low, Montessori-inspired design with fully soft foam construction and beautifully textured Bouclé upholstery. Ideal for growing children who are ready for a longer-lasting bed, this floor-level design offers an alternative to traditional wooden and metal frames. Its soft foam sides and headboard create a cosy, inviting space, while removable, machine-washable covers make everyday care easier. Why choose the MONIO Bouclé European Single Bed? Full-length sleeping space – a European single size with room for growing children and teenagers. Fully soft foam construction – soft sides and headboard, without a rigid wooden or metal frame. Low Montessori-inspired design – easy to get in and out of without climbing onto a high bed. Beautiful Bouclé upholstery – soft, loop-textured fabric for a warm, contemporary bedroom. Removable, machine-washable covers – practical for everyday use. Breathable 3D spacer mesh – supports airflow beneath the mattress. Anti-slip underside – helps minimise movement of the foam components. Four Bouclé colours – choose a finish to complement your bedroom. Optional matching mattress – available with Bamboo or TENCEL™ mattress, or as a bed-only option. A full-length bed for growing children Choosing a bed for an older child can feel like a balancing act. You want something with plenty of room to grow, but you might not be ready to give up the cosy, low-level design of their first floor bed. With its 90 × 200 cm sleeping area, the MONIO European Single offers a full-length alternative to smaller toddler, junior and youth beds. It's a practical choice for children who need more space to stretch out, as well as families looking for a bed that won't quickly become too short as their child grows. As a general size guide, this size may suit older children from around 10 years onwards, including teenagers. The sleeping dimensions are also comparable to an adult European single mattress, although suitability for adult use depends on the manufacturer's load and usage recommendations. Age alone shouldn't determine your choice. Consider your child's height, mobility, sleeping habits and the space available in their bedroom. European single vs standard UK single – what's the difference? A European single mattress measures 90 × 200 cm, while a standard UK single is usually 90 × 190 cm. Both have the same sleeping width, but the European single provides an extra 10 cm of length. This can be particularly useful for taller children and teenagers. Important: The mattress must match the bed's 90 × 200 cm sleeping area. A standard UK single mattress is too short for this bed. Soft foam sides instead of a hard bed frame MONIO takes a different approach to traditional bedroom furniture. Rather than adding padding to a rigid wooden or metal frame, the entire surrounding structure is made from flexible polyurethane foam. That includes the headboard and raised sides, creating a soft sleeping space without hard frame corners or sharp edges. The gently raised foam sides surround the mattress, making the bed feel comfortable and sheltered. It's a lovely spot for reading, relaxing or unwinding at the end of the day. The raised sides may help reduce accidental rolling from the sleeping surface, but they are not a guarantee against falls or a substitute for following the manufacturer's safety guidance. Low, accessible and Montessori-inspired Although Montessori-inspired floor beds are often associated with toddlers, their simple, accessible design can be just as appealing as children get older. The MONIO European Single sits low to the floor, making it easy to get in and out without climbing onto a high frame. Its soft, understated shape also helps create a relaxed bedroom environment. For older children and teenagers, it's a comfortable alternative to a conventional single bed, particularly if they prefer a cosy, floor-level sleeping space. Beautiful Bouclé upholstery with washable covers Bouclé brings a lovely softness to bedroom furniture. Its distinctive looped texture feels cosy and inviting, while its understated appearance works beautifully with both playful children's rooms and more grown-up interiors. MONIO uses 100% polyester Bouclé upholstery, available in four colours. The covers are removable and machine washable according to the manufacturer's care instructions, making them practical for everyday family life. Thoughtful ventilation beneath the mattress Air circulation is an important consideration for any floor-level bed, particularly where the mattress sits close to the floor. MONIO includes a breathable 3D spacer mesh beneath the mattress. Its three-dimensional structure helps encourage airflow and supports moisture dispersal. The underside of the foam components is finished with anti-slip fabric, helping to reduce unwanted movement during normal use. Place the bed on a suitable, dry surface and regularly check and air the mattress and the area beneath it, following the manufacturer's recommendations. Choose your bed with or without a mattress The MONIO Bouclé European Single Bed is available in three options: Bed Only: Includes the complete soft foam bed structure, without a mattress. Bed + Bamboo Mattress: Includes the bed and a matching 90 × 200 cm Bamboo mattress. Bed + TENCEL™ Mattress: Includes the bed and a matching 90 × 200 cm TENCEL™ mattress. Both matching mattress options measure 90 × 200 × 14 cm. If you already have a mattress, please ensure it fits the sleeping area correctly. MONIO recommends a maximum mattress thickness of 14 cm to maintain the intended recessed position within the surrounding foam sides. Please select your preferred Bouclé colour and mattress option before adding the bed to your basket.
