Gatagua, Kenya Filter – AVE Kafferosteri

Gatagua is a washed Kenyan coffee from the Gatagua Farmers Cooperative Society in Murang’a, Central Kenya, light roasted for filter by AVE Kafferosteri in Halland, Sweden. The cooperative’s smallholder members grow SL28 and Ruiru 11 at 1,600 to 1,850 metres, on the eastern slopes of the Aberdare range southwest of Mount Kenya. The cherries are fermented overnight, soaked again in fresh water and dried on raised beds for two to three weeks, a careful Kenyan washing routine that gives a clean, bright cup. Expect blackcurrant and citrus zest with an elegant finish. Sold as whole beans only.
