Synare Sensor

Synare Sensor — 1979 Analog Drum Synthesizer A very cool piece of electronic music history: the Synare Sensor, made around 1979 by the late, great Star Instruments Co. of Stafford Springs, Connecticut. The Sensor is a smaller, more compact version of the legendary Synare drum synthesizers, originally designed to be screwed onto the rim of a drum and triggered by playing the drumhead. These days, it’s arguably even more fun as a finger-controlled portable analog synthesizer. Despite its tiny size, this little box packs an impressive amount of sonic character. Punchy electronic percussion, weird bleeps, squelches, drones, experimental textures — there’s a surprising amount of territory to explore from such a small instrument. A genuine vintage analog synth from the late '70s, with all the charm, quirks and immediacy that comes with these early electronic instruments. Perfect for collectors, electronic musicians, experimentalists, and anyone who loves unusual vintage instruments. link - Synare Sensor sound
