Vintage Our Lady of the Snows — Porcelain Bisque Figurine

Snow in Rome… in August? There is a beautiful tradition behind this beloved title of Our Blessed Mother. ❤️ According to Catholic tradition, an extraordinary snowfall covered Rome’s Esquiline Hill on August 5, marking the place where Our Lady desired a church built in her honor. This story is associated with the Basilica of Saint Mary Major and is remembered under the title Our Lady of the Snows. What a lovely reminder that God can bring unexpected beauty into our lives—even in a season when we least expect it. This graceful porcelain bisque figurine depicts Mary tenderly holding the Child Jesus, with soft blue and ivory tones, beautifully textured robes, and golden-toned halos. From a now-closed nuns’ convent, she stands 8 3/8 inches tall and is in great convent-used condition. A beautiful treasure for a home prayer corner or someone with a special devotion to Our Lady. Our Lady of the Snows, pray for us and our families. Your purchase helps support our Pediatric Mission.
