Authentic Art Deco style evening / cocktail handbag, dating from the 1930s/1940s. A very fine retro piece, rare to find as a complete set! The set includes: The main bag: Crafted from thick matte black fabric (suede-look or cotton velvet) featuring lovely draped pleats. It has a soft handle and a large rigid gold-tone metal clasp, very typical of the era. The interior is lined in black satin with a small slip pocket. + matching coin purse: Coordinating with the main bag, this mini black fabric bag features a gold-tone kiss-lock clasp. It slips perfectly inside. Precise dimensions of the main bag: Height: 15 cm Width: 18 cm Bottom thickness: 10 cm Handle length: 29 cm The set is in good overall condition for its age and fully functional. The black fabric is clean and well-preserved. Please note normal signs of age consistent with vintage leather goods: the gold finish on the metal clasp shows wear and pitting in places (see photos) and the fabric shows very slight wear near the handle attachments. No visible brand (period artisan-made). Ideal for an evening out, a retro wedding, period costume, or for vintage fashion collectors.
