ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP The Closet Core Cielo is a boxy top and shift dress with a slightly dropped shoulder, an angled shoulder yoke and a roomy fit. Choose a cropped top with a cuffed short sleeve or a gathered long sleeve, or a dress with or without inseam pockets. The neckline can be finished with a facing or with bias binding. This three-week Zoom sewing workshop covers every option, so you can mix and match now and make it again later. WHAT YOU’LL MAKE A Cielo top or dress in your choice of view. Light to medium weight linen, chambray or cotton shirting give a more structured shape. Rayon challis, tencel, cotton voile or silk give more drape. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN Reading and working from a garment pattern Choosing your size and grading between sizes Bust darts Inseam pockets Stay-stitching, grading, clipping and understitching curves Two neckline finishes: an interfaced facing and bias binding Setting in sleeves: easing a sleeve cap and gathering a full sleeve Cuffs: a folded short-sleeve cuff and a faced, gathered long-sleeve cuff Clean seam finishes (serger, zigzag, or French) and double-fold hems WHAT YOU’LL GET 6 hours of live online sewing instruction across 3 virtual sessions Multi-camera demos - top-down, machine-level, and table view, so you see exactly what’s happening at every step Video replay access to every session, with detailed written notes for each one A dedicated online workshop space for sharing progress, asking questions, and connecting with fellow students Lifetime access to all Cielo Top replays, notes, and resources A NOTE ON FIT We'll cover fit and sizing in the first session.
