Selleys Liquid Nails Heavy Duty is a high-strength construction adhesive built for demanding structural bonding, supplied here as a value three-pack of 350g cartridges. It develops around twice the strength of Liquid Nails Original in less than half the time, so heavy or bulky materials can be fixed and left to hold sooner.About the formula A solvent-based synthetic rubber resin adhesive with a thick, non-sag consistency. It grips on vertical and overhead surfaces without slumping or stringing, extrudes easily even in cold winter conditions, and resists water and weather for both interior and exterior work.Where to use it Indoors: sheet flooring to joists, wallboard and panelling to timber or metal frames, cork or timber to plaster and fibre cement, and metal or aluminium trims to floors and walls. Outdoors: bonding timber, fibre cement sheeting, stone tiles and masonry where a weather-resistant structural bond is needed.Suitable materials include timber, MDF, particleboard, plasterboard, masonry, concrete, metals, rubber, glass, and tiles and ceramics. Pre-test plastics for compatibility.How to use it Make sure surfaces are clean, dry and free of oil, grease and dust. Cut the cartridge tip, fit the nozzle and trim to roughly a 5mm opening. For a wet bond, run a bead along studs, joists or battens (or every 40cm on broad flat surfaces), position within 15 minutes and support with nails, screws or clamps for at least 8 hours. For faster grab, use the contact method: apply to one surface, press together and pull apart, wait 2 to 4 minutes, then join firmly within 10 minutes.Important notes Bond strength keeps building over 2 to 3 days, with full cure taking up to 7 days. Curing relies on solvent evaporation, so cold temperatures, thick joints, wide bonded areas and non-porous surfaces such as metals and dense timbers all slow it down. May cause skin irritation and serious eye irritation and may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area and keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Wear protective gloves and eye protection. On skin contact, remove affected clothing and rinse with water; for eye contact, rinse continuously for at least 15 minutes; if inhaled, move to fresh air; seek medical advice if irritation persists. Store upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight and keep the cartridge tightly capped. Always refer to the manufacturer Safety Data Sheet before use.
