The pepper mills have stainless steel grinding mechanisms, which salt (a corrosive) will destroy. Our salt mills have a ceramic mechanism, which salt will not harm.Hand-washing is recommended. Do not pre-soak in hot water and dry thoroughly to prevent spotting.
