Antique Venetian Trade Bead and African Bead Necklace

Antique glass Venetian trade-bead and African bead necklace. It is made out of Venetian lampwork, millefiori and chevron glass beads mixed with African glass beads. The Venetian glass beads were made for Europeans to trade with Africa for goods from the late 18th to the early 20th century. They were traded for commodities such as gold, palm oil and spices. The beads were then strung onto necklaces along with local traditional African glass beads. Length: 25 inches Material: glass
