Des Cos Fig

Des Cos has been grown by northern gardeners in New Jersey and PA where the summers are shorter. The variety also has a tight and small eye that resists splitting due to humidity and rains. The figs themselves are also unique and worth seeing for yourself. Des Cos figs have primarily green skin, but they develop dusty blue blushing when they are ripe. Pair that with the super dark red pulp and it’s a really striking and pretty color combination on this fig. Des Cos figs grow to medium size and they have a teardrop shape. The trees will also produce a breba and a main crop. This is an exciting new addition to the fig scene and growers are looking forward to seeing what these trees can do when they are grown out for several years. Terms and Conditions: ***Please be sure to read our Terms and Conditions before purchasing cuttings*** When do we ship cuttings? Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
