2025 Santa Ynez Valley Syrah

The 2025 Santa Ynez Valley Syrah comes from two sites that we farm in Santa Ynez Valley: the Pace Vineyard and Starfire. Both sites benefit from afternoon breezes and cold nights to help retain acidity and balance the bright, warm, sunny days that grace the Santa Ynez Valley. The Pace Vineyard, a small backyard family site we farm with Ryan's father and industry veteran, Randy, was planted by Ryan's family in 2000. We have produced wine from here since Outward's inception in 2016. We began farming nearby Starfire in 2024. Both sites are farmed using regenerative organic practices. This wine is the one exception to our single-varietal approach. We co-fermented the Syrah with 5% Viognier, also grown at the family site—a blend inspired by the wines of Côte Rôtie. After fermentation, the wine was pressed and aged in neutral French oak barrels for 10 months.
