Postmodern Apocalypse Now Light Table By Carlo Forcolini
A postmodern square steel coffee table featuring an integrated, centrally positioned height-adjustable lamp. Italian designer Carlo Forcolini conceived this functional hybrid model in 1984 for the manufacturer Alias. The piece consists of a 120cm square steel top mounted on a galvanised metal framework with four angled legs and thick rounded rubber feet. The central lighting element features a chrome conical shade, a manual height adjustment rod with a wing nut, and an adjacent black control switch. The table surface stands at a height of 44cm, while the adjustable lamp component extends between 25cm and 68cm above the tabletop. Provides adjustable ambient illumination and a practical central surface for a contemporary lounge or seating area. Good vintage condition with minor surface scratches and an authentic patina on the steel surface consistent with age and use. Worldwide delivery available. Pick-up by appointment in Antwerp.
