Holocene Memorialis Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton 2019/23
Holocene Wines is a boutique winery founded by winemaker Todd Alexander, formerly of Bryant Family Vineyards in Napa, and Force Majeure in WA. The premise, small production, terroir-driven, minimal intervention, thus allowing the plots to speak for themselves. Memorialis is their flagship PN sourced from the from the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, created fromred wine primarily Dijon clone on marine soils. This is then 100% whole cluster fermented, and aged in neutral oak to allow the site expression sing. On the nose, classic Bing cherry and pomegranate, with nuance of black tea,dried rose petals, and dried orange peel. Medium-bodied with ample acidity and fine tannins, this wine will age effortlessly for 10+ years. But, if you can't wait, try pairing this with Duck a l'Orange, or an herbed pork loin.us
