This is a beautiful vintage box, handcrafted in Sorrento in Italy, circa 1970, often referred to as "Sorrentoware". It would've been used as a keepsake, jewellery or trinket box. It features beautiful intricate, hand-laid wooden marquetry and inlay featuring a violin and sheet music. It is in beautiful condition with a velvet interior, little feet and a tassled key.
