Vintage Mens 1960s 1970s Safari Jacket Belted Patch Pockets Military Style Oatmeal Flax Linen 40"
An extra-long fitting vintage 1960s or 1970s safari jacket, made from a coarsely woven flax or flax/linen blend fabric in natural oatmeal colour. Cut in a classic military style, with 3 riveted silver metal button fastening, open neck with long collar, 4 faux-pleated patch pockets with flaps, unpadded shoulders, rear shoulder yoke & centre seam running into a vent, matching belt with friction buckle; no labels except the frayed size tag. Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description. Size: Suggested 40" Extra Long- shown on a 38" mannequin. All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent): Chest - armpit to armpit: 22" (56cm) Shoulder to shoulder: 18 1/2" (47cm) Shoulder to cuff: 28" (71cm) Armpit to cuff: 20" (51cm) Waist: 20 1/2" (52cm) Back length - base of collar to hem: 33" (84cm) Condition: In very good condition overall - appears seldom worn but with some storage marks - there are scattered faint dark speckles across the collar & shoulders, especially toward s the left - some other faint dark marks here & there - some rust transfer from the buttons near the top button & on the inside. Has been gently washed, steamed & pressed prior to listing.
