Dolomite Mug by The Leach Pottery Hand Thrown in St Ives, Cornwall Approx measurements: Large: 9.5cm H x 7.5cm ø 300ml Small: 7.5cm H x 6cm ø 200ml Part of the Leach’s ‘Standard Ware’ range ~ A beautiful stoneware mug using Cornish clay, reduction fired with a tall, narrow form and tapered handle, a rich quality to the Dolomite glaze with cool tones of blueish white and slight speckled nature with a soft shine. Reddish tones define the lip whilst creating nice tonal gradients that blend into the body and handle. Two thirds of the mug has been intentionally left unglazed to both provide a textual contrast and celebrate the natural beauty of the clay itself. A balanced tactile surface that’s both smooth and coarse, the quality of craftsmanship within this simple yet elegant mug is very evident. Perfectly balanced and proportioned, sitting comfortably in the hand. We have 2 sizes available, the smaller form making for an ideal aroma mug perhaps. Each handmade and unique, therefore slight variations in shape, size will occur. Handwash recommended.
