I liked the mixture of confidence and awkwardness in the figure — the oversized eyes, the long neck, the expressive hands that seem halfway through explaining something important. The painting shifts between portrait and performance. Some parts feel playful, others slightly chaotic. I didn’t try to force them into behaving consistently. The rough marks and interruptions stayed because they carried the energy of the painting better than a more controlled painting would have. Painted on stretched canvas.
